Here is a test scene that i made in c4d and sent to standalone, i get no RTX boost at all in standalone or c4d, its actually slower with rtx reporting a .88 speedboost using RTX
better to send orbx for next time, anyway I can see content of scene. It's very simple one, RTX shows mostly the muscles with dense scenes. For example vegetation scenes, pathtrace heavy scenes.

So another sight, you forgot another install in other plugin search path. It makes conflicts. Or installing to unexpected location.

Good to know, I'll try loading and making more complex scenes and see if I still have no boosting. Does anyone have a scene they can share that does benefit from rtx being on, that way I can eliminate any question of if it's just my scenes not benefiting.

I only have one install of cinema, I have checked both folders there are no other instances of octane. Like I have said, I am very aware of how to install the plugin because if I downgrade to an old version it works fine so I am very aware of how to install this plug.

is there a way i can make sure that RTX will be enabled when rendering via deadline / cinema4dbatch ?

i see the preferences_v2 file in %appdata%\OctaneRender\{374207c25da13b52bc0a2f110ad946e3}\ but ideally this setting can be set from within the cinema 4d scene file. is there any way to do this?

Dear Ahmet
installation of RC4 works fine! So there must have happened something in the last step.
Maybe it is the same in windows installations?
kind regards

Martin

You can fire up one of the heavier scenes that come with c4d, delete all the materials and place a light source in there. That should net you a sizeable increase, if it indeed works :)

RTX appears to be most beneficial when you have a lot of objects or even better a lot of dense objects. If you create a tree field you should see improvements of upwards of 2x, sometimes even 5x.

Still, keep in mind that it mainly helps with the raytracing part. Put a single object in there with a crap ton of sophisticated shaders and you won't see a difference at all.

From some of my production scenes which are predominantly interior like scenes I've seen boosts from 20% to about 2x.

Anyone found a proper way to work with ACES / OCIO? I found this new icon in the live viewer, which you can toggle:

LDR 8-bit
HDR
HDR Linear
ACES

And in the rendersettings in Cinema4D there's a new option under Render buffertype: Linear ACES 2065-1
And in multipass options you can also set the Tonemap type to: Linear ACES 2065-1

But how can I show the Live Viewer as usual but use the ACEScg workflow? I tried applying a LUT in the camera imager wile LiveViewer is set to ACES-mode, but nothing happens.

OSX R20 build is wrong, putted older version. I'll fix it with next build, you can still use RC4 until that.
