I guess I'm curious if these test versions are considered production ready. I've been on the last 3.06 stable, and have some projects I'm working on so didn't want to have a freak out session with my renderer while I'm trying to make a dollar.

They are NOT production ready, thats why they have the extension "Test"

Although I have been using test versions for quiet some time now to get the latest feature, just be ready to reinstall an older more stable version if things get to messesd up.

So if we have R19, there is no Stable version to use?
I downloaded 3.0.6 2 and don't see the R19 file.
This test version crashes A LOT.

We have to wait for next stable sdk(3.07). It's not possible to go back for me to 3.06.2+R19. Also R19 SDK has bitmap saving problems. I've reported to MAXON.
Btw what do you mean with crashes? Where how it crashes? Plugin side is not less stable than 3.06.2.

What I am seeing is that renders (in render cue or pic viewer) will start, work for a while and then fail.
The failure takes the following form:
1. Frames stop rendering.
2. Cannot cancel render.
3. Octane is crashed out--will not work without restart.
I thought maybe the crashes were related to doing other tasks while rendering (going to AE to work, etc.--something that used to be okay) but I see the crash outs even if I leave the machine alone.
Windows 1709 Build 16299.19
Nvidia 388.00

Please give better information about it.
Which scenes gives that? Spesific one?
Any screenshots from crash and some consol log output or bugreport?
Also try older drivers.

Ok, I allowed another crash and here is the render log.
With this crash, I could not quit C4d--had to force quit.
Does this help?

See log outputs. Cuda crashes are not directly related with plugin parts. Your temps are going higher by per frames. It maybe an issue or having an issue to scene spesific. Hard to judge without doing better investigation.

Are you saying the temps are too high? These look like normal temps ~85 for past jobs. I have used the machine for about a year.
Thanks,
Lance
