AMD cards are still not supported and there's no ETA for when they will be supported.

Is OpenCL support an 'in progress' thing or a 'never going to happen' thing? Just asking for upgrade purposes.

OpenCL support is never going to happen, Otoy instead works on a compiler to directly use the octane Cuda code on AMD GPU and on other plateform.
Otoy already showed a video of Octane working with a AMD card but aparently was just a prototype.
From the GTC presentation we may think it could be ready eventually after summer, but you can't trust this date more than a rumor.

As you saw in the video, Octane really is working on AMD cards without us having to do an OpenCL port . But we are running into driver issues that we need to see fixed by the vendor before we release this to users. We also have to do a solid round of performance tuning, same we are about to do on Pascal GPUs.

Thanks for the update about this:)

Hey guys , first of all thank the OTOY team for the new version of Octane 3.0! Ok , I went from version 2.24 to 3.0 Standalone (upgrade); was testing the new features, so I wanted to do a comparative speed between the two versions . The problem is that once my license 3.0 on, I could not work in version 2.24 ...
I disabled the license in 3.0 , I waited two hours to activate at 2.24 but I does not give access , any help please ? Octane says: "Invalid OctaneLive standalone account". (All this is on the same machine)

Finally I could find the solution. To access the version 2.24, you need to place a user code and password that are specific Octane Live Accounts within the " Licenses" tab.
Ok , I did some quick tests. Night Scene complex in Diffuse mode:
OCTANE 2.44:
Time: 9:43 min
Ram used: 1076.70 Mb.
Overall appearance: Much noise, red fireflies
OCTANE 3.00
Time: 5:54 min
Ram used: 1737.90 Mb.
Overall appearance: The same 2.44 but: more noise , less tone and darker.
In conclusion , Octane 3.0 is faster but consumes more RAM and images out inexplicably darker and less color tone ... If someone could make a new topic in the forum as " Octane 3.0 vs Octane 2.24 " , could put more results with images.
Some improvement would be appreciated , greetings :
Kross .

				Hi Kross,
great that you have solved with authentication, but before jumping to conclusions about v3, please, have a look at this post about all the new v3 features:
