Hi sodapop66,
can you check active project's "tex" folder to see images doesn't extracted? Also can you send me a few your *.orbx package to check it? What's your OS and language of OS? Also can you try with a "saved scene"?
Anyone else see this problem?

i've found the problem
if i open blank new c4d, indeed i have lot of missing textures
but if i open any saved c4d files, every materials from local or user live db is correct
running on windows 8.1 pro french and C4D french language

ok, we detected same on some user. Why this happens? Octane needs to copy the files a folder. If we have a scene, it copies to scene's tex folder, otherwise uses "Documents/tex" folder. There should be a problem about acces the files.

i have changed some code for livedb issues. material preview issue still here but others should be fixed. please see here

thanks for your help Aoktar but i'm sorry , i've just checked last test3 and it's worse
Now i've missing textures with saved files or copy & paste materials between open file, not only with blank c4d start.
and some material doesn't load in the materials c4d windows
need to come back to test2
**nice improvement with popup menu to display the size of thumbnail.

why worst? there is not any implementation for copy/paste between scenes. All should be same. You have to copy tex folder if you copy paste materials.

sorry if already posted, but in Rednder tab Display pass doesnt change passes.. only if resend&restart render
