Ken - I have updated the manual to answer your question. Pls see Smooth Default and Smoothing Angle at
http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Poser/?page_id=32. Smooth Default should be ON, so if you materials are faceted, you may have turned this option OFF at some point and not turned it back on. Let me know if this does not address your problem.

Oh, the default smoothing setting was indeed set to OFF, and that explains a *lot* of what I have been going through lately with all the faceted surfaces. There were other settings that were set incorrectly, so I fixed them all at once now that I know where they are.
Funny that the last option was to allow moving sliders with the mouse wheel. It was set to OFF, but I could move dials with the mouse wheel anyway.

You can animate Octane materials at the moment buy ticking "Reconvert Materials Each Frame" in the Animation tab. Mouseover the checkbox for details.

face_off wrote:okay i solved the problem. I started a new scene and exported the rendertarget. then i open the one i was working on and imported that rendertarget i just saved. so Is there a setting in the rendertarget that would stop the camera from animating.
I would have thought if there was a rendertarget issue - I would get it too when rendering that scene. I cannot think of any rendertarget setting that would stop the camera from animating - sorry. I cannot explain this - but good to hear you have a workaround.
Paul
actually the problem came back. but I found out the problem for sure this time. ready?
Its was the render priority. I had it on high. when i turn it down, the works fine now. don't understand way that would affect it.
