confirmed. you can not close the presets window. it only gives the "green light" and no yellow or red. you can not continue to work while the presets window is open. will test on PC this week.

big noise caused by lighting materials

I Aoktar.
I have a problem with the materials that emit light. In this animation, I have highlighted the problem. only the two lights on the sides that generate noise. The other lights and the background map does not create problems. What is the reason? I tried to create various types of "Black Emission" with different ratings, but without results. It 'sa bug in the beta or a problem of settings?
Regarding the previous post, the textures are very large, from 2k to 4k, but not gigantic. For some cinematic scenes is necessary to use textures up to 10k. I hope Octane become performant even with such great texture because it is a prerequisite for its use in movie productions.
I have other questions, one is the "compositing tag." Coming soon?
What software currently supports better the plugin internal OCTANE?

Thanks!

And I have to say thank you as well. Without your massive help the last project didn't work out in any way. And this way we can work and play with one of the best render :)

FYI: in B92 and B96 there is a console output warning like "Can't Read Preset File: <path to C4D R14>\plugins\c4doctanepresets.dat"
This can't be read because there is no such file, also in userfolder. The one wich holds some Octane presets has another name. This is no bug as far as I see, I rendered again a bunch of files the last days - 30h at once, 400 Frames, everything fine. But it probably wants to say something?

@SVITAdmin: That's cool. Sound is great, i hope to see some commercials which is done with Octane.
We should have something live in January in Screenvision theaters. Preview in November for Catching Fire opening too. Got some cool TurbulenceFD and Octane compositing going on there

I'm assuming you don't have SV theaters where you are, so I'll send you some stuff when its ready. Unfortunately, you won't be able to share it, but at least you can see what we are creating.

Here is a quick tease though. This could never look like this without Octane.

i'm suspecting that we can have problems with Win8. I have never tested on this OS.

We are using Win8 on our PCs and it's fine. We have not "upgraded" to 8.1 yet though. I'm not taking that risk until Octane and C4D are proven stable on it.

@Dinf: Thanks you too. Your scene was very complex and good example for testing the plugin.

@SVITAdmin: thank, i'll be pleased to see works. I'm curious to see turbulenceFD and octane on works. I'm sure this can give some inspiration.

@Atilak: yes, but big textures need much more vram. 1000x1000 32bit image takes 4Mb ram, but 5000x5000 32bit image takes 100mb vram.
Also this noisy areas because of emitters. I advice to you try tweak intensity and other parameters. And you can change exposure, ISO, fstop for getting more shiny lights. Also check hotpixel value.
Actually Octane has not functionality for compositing tag. But next versions will have

@EricDesign: Can you pm english error message. I want to do some try to get working with R15

"Can't Read Preset File: <path to C4D R14>\plugins\c4doctanepresets.dat" > i have that message too, but everything is working fine in R15.

Still slow with many many clones and biger scenes but i will test to make a workaround over xrefs .. i will test.
Hangup in renderend with big scenes actually the same like in old versions. Smaller scenes work normal.

Currently i´m working with win 8 ... not updated to 8.1 and when i know there is i problem...many thanx for that info... i will make the update to win 8.1 later when it´s stable...
