Why is it that the standalone has no issues to render but the 3D Max plugin cant do anything?
Do you have just black screen, or checker?
freelancah wrote:Sorry meant to say checker. All the statistics on the screen indicated that nothing was loaded to the card.

Edit: Also using max 2013 and 480 gtx + radeon 6780. W7 too.

I tested with Radeon 6870 and 5400. Both have the same issue, yet with both the standalone is working fine. Is this a bug or a feature of 3D max plugin? Anyway I'm planning to get a GTX 580 to run with pair with my 480 so it wont be an issue long. Anyway I just think that if this is in fact a reality with radeon cards I suggest putting it in writing somewhere before anyone wastes their money.

Do you use Radeon for display only?

Yeah, the intention was to reduce load from all my monitors and have some power to run other applications while the Gforce was rendering

Can you show your GPU dialog in 3dsmax?

No I cant atm. I removed the cards since I have a deadline job that I have to finish before monday.. I can test after that probably.

Edit: Well actually I can, because it looks the same with or without the Radeon..Here it is. It looks like this with both cards, just doesn't seem to render.

Are you sure plugin see GTX480 when Radeon is installed?

I did some further testing and I can no longer see the card in the menu. Last time it was, I'm sure about that, but it looks like this is probably the issue. Will have to test with other PCI-E slots, I used a different one last time. Also just to note, octane standalone still works and sees the card
