Hi Karba,
I'm continuing to use 2.58f and 3.01 because I have old projects that I don't want to convert. The new projects are created with 3.03.
I noticed that with 2.58f if I press pause during the preview the matterial editor continue to works. I can create new materials, browsing the library very fast.
With 3.01 or .03 sometime with pause on the material editor doesn't generate the sphere preview. If you clone the material in other slots you get a wrong preview.
Please check it.
Then there is an old issue not fixed since the first releases. If you merge an object in the current scene that stay in another max scene and it has a material called, for example, "metal01" and you choose to use the scene material answering to the Max dialog window, you will get duplicated materials: metal01 and metal01
Vray merges the material assigning the scene material. You will get only one material. This issue cause duplicated textures.
Regards

Are you sure it worked properly in 2.58f.
I told with Roeland about that issue. It is not easy to fix.

It should emit anyway.

I installed the update but now Max 2011 64 bit crashes when loading the octane3dsmax.dlr file with an unhandled exception error.
I then deleted the file Cudart64_40_17.dll, since it is from an earlier version of Octane and not in the zip file for the new version which has the file cudart64_42_9.dll. However, after this when I start Max I get an error octane3dsmax.dlr failed to initialize loading DLLs (error code 126). Max runs but I can't use Octane. I tried running Max as Administrator to see if that would make a difference but it doesn't help.
The last version of Octane that worked for me is 3.00d and that used the file cudart64_42_9.dll, so perhaps the problem is related to the switch to a new cudart... file?
I have the latest video drivers installed.
Can you please tell me what I need to do?
Thank you.

Are you sure you have copied all files properly?

Yes, I have done it several times. I just copied them again and got the same result.

I reported the same problem with the previous version and as I recall you hadn't yet tested it with Max 2011. It looks like the same problem has carried forward.
If I delete the files and copy back the files from 3.00d, then Octane works again.
Thank you.
