In architectural visualisation this kind of setup is common. Isn't this an issue for other Octane users?

no, 1.10 is for plugin version(based on newer SDK). It's not fully stabile but nearly solid, even that has more features.

No. Not the SDK, the plug-in version. You are posting in the 1.01 thread. If you look down in the forums, there is a link to a test version of 1.10 that uses the 1.27 SDK. It's an updated version that adds features, such as being able to hide an object or object shadow or both using the Octane Object Tag. It's been stable for me

nice, but please don't forget it's development version. Some functions can be broken on different versions. But right, it's generaly reliable

LOL, you can do. what water shader that you`re talking about?
Create -> New Material -> Bump -> Texture -> Surfaces -> Water.

One cannot use this in octanes Render. Unfortunately.
If he is used, one receives a smooth surface.
Or is there a trick?

Turbulence from octanes Render simply looks not like water, but how a foil.:(

Comparisons both Shader sometimes
Then you see comparisons both sometimes, the difference. I help myself meanwhile with textures, but it would be really great if the Shader could be used by C4D.

c4d native shaders works on different space. Octane cannot support because it's making cuda based calculation not cpu.
Plugin uses a baking method for these shaders and convert them to images. And apply. If you set enough big you can see better textures. But i think you need very big sizes for a sea, not possible to get nice resolutions for close views on big objects.

Thank you, SVITAdmin and Aoctar - got it. Tried that version immediately but the live viewer shows SDK 1.25 instead V 1.27. Installed SDK 1.27. Did I miss something?

Unfortunately the shadow off in object tag does not help - the shadow is still visible.

Will discuss this issue furthermore in other thread rgrd. V1.10/SDK 1.27.

Is it possible to have option to hide object shadows as well. I think is what everyone is asking.

It is possible in 1.10(SDK 1.27), with mesh visibility.

Chris!
