Hi,
I'm getting a strange behavior with both 2.03 and 2.04 versions.
After I close a project and reopen it, Cinema 4D freezes. I have set a custom layout for Octane (start up layout) and another one for general usage.
It seems that if the start up layout has the Octane windows opened Cinema will freeze if you open a project but not if you're starting from scratch.
If I open any Octane project with another layout set as start up layout everything works well and I can open Octane windows afterwards.
Version 2.02 seems to work well though...
If it helps... I have updated the nvidia driver to latest version.
I apologies if this issue has been reported and answered before!
Thanks,
Alex

Hey Ahmet,
an issue with the Random Color shader in 2.03. After working some time with one material containing some Random Color shaders I couldn't switch anymore to another material in the mat editor. Should say, when clicking another material still the one with Random Color stays in the mat editor, while only the attribute manager shows the fresh picked material. Not really malicious, I'll have an eye on it if it is reproducable. Also try the 2.04.

Hi Ahmet,
I also get lots of freezes!
Sometimes after opening a scene, sometinges after a render. It suddenly appears
and C4D freezes without any warning or bugreport. Only way is to quit via taskmanger.
I have this problems since version 2.00.
What I did so far:
- installed newest NVidia drivers - no change
- removed all other plugins - no change
- removed octane 2.04 and installed 1.54 - everything works fine (except displ. etc. of course)
- removed all mix-materials from scene - seams to work well!
I think, there is a major problem with "Mix-Materials"
Anyone else encountering such problems?
regards
Mike

Loosing Octane Settings in 2.03 and 2.04 is already mentioned? It applies to Device Priorities and Paths wich get lost every C4D start. The presets do not remember these settings, too.

Mike, several times you posted similar reports without any scene or helpful info. This not helps me or you.

could someone try this test version? I have tryed to fix reported hangups. They was on opengl preview of mix material and C4D shader renderings. Use it over 2.04's files.
Will there be one for R14 as well? As many others I don't use R15 and have C4D freezings some times, not reproducable and with no bugreports, in 2.03 as well as in 2.04.

I'm trying to solve the problem. Mix material's opengl problem is fixed. C4D shader's issue is a big headache here. I'll release a maintance version as soon as possible. TRY to set cpu cores=1 atm.

Thank you for response. CPU is set to 1 since 1. time you mentioned it.
Freezes are maybe C4D Shader related? I'll try to do without and check if freeze won't come back then. Thanks.
