I'm running into an odd issue with version 3. For some reason my renders are looking very odd. Notice the strange sharpness of the shadows as well as some other problems. I've tried manually setting each of the render target nodes in hopes of fixing the issue, but it is hard to be certain the changes are affecting the scene in the intended manner due to the current bug where values are not properly displayed.
I've been looking for weeks on the forums to see if anyone else has observed this behavior. So far no one mentions it so I'm beginning to wonder if I'm somehow doing something wrong. The scene below is the exact same file, opened in version 2.24.82 and again in 3.00.001 version standalone 3 alpha 4.
Any and all ideas are greatly welcomed. Thanks for your time.

I can definitely see your issue, most marked on the forehead and cheek. But I don't know what might be causing it, maybe Sighman will have an idea.

Hello Sighman...long time no see. Really wondering about the issue I uploaded last week. I could very much use your assistance. Thanks a lot.

I have a problem - I had a major crash of my laptop a month ago and I now have a new machine and am in the process of re-installing everything and retrieving my online backups (thank goodness for LiveDrive!). I have installed Carrara 8.5 Pro and can run the last version of OR4C version 2 with no problems, in fact it runs at least 5 times as fast on my new machine! But when I try to run 3.0.0.1, and try to open Carrara, it reports "OctanePlugin.mcx failed to load". If I then try to load a scene or create a new scene, I just get "An error has occurred". I have checked that I have the latest driver for my GTX 960M (4GB). I have the standalones for Octane 2 and 3 (alpha) installed. Please help!

I too am really hoping we hear from Sighman soon. 8 weeks away seems like a longer time than he usually takes away. Maybe I've been spoiled by how quickly he usually replies and provides solutions. Hope all is well with him. Like you, version 3 is almost unusable for me until these issues are addressed.
I'll say Phil that both of our issues seem quite random. No one else seems to be having the specular material problem that I'm having with version 3, but I've also not read about people having the issue you have experienced. Really hope Sighman will have the feedback you need. I'll be keeping a close eye on the solutions to both of our current issues.

Sighman, where are you bud? Hope all is well with you and your personal life. Really miss your advice on some issues with the version 3 plug-in. I'm trying to avoid going to the main forums with issues that I suspect are plug-in related since they are unlikely to be helpful. Any feedback at all would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, sorry for the long absence. I spent Febuary healing from a surgery that I had to have unexpectedly. I'm fine now and fully recovered. I am struggling with getting the latest alpha out. There are some technical issues I am trying to work through but I plan on releasing something this week.

Hi Sighman, sorry to hear that you have been unwell, but good news that you are feeling better - don't take on too much too soon, your health is the most important thing. I look forward to further updates as and when you are up to it.
