Hi JimStar ! I have a question about caustic. I was faced with the render jewelry. And I have a question on caustics. The I-ray at the moment it is considered much faster than in octane render. Plan you do optimization of caustics in Octan render?

Goldisart,
I guess you should be asking this in the standalone forum.
But, regarding the official announcement
http://home.otoy.com/otoy-unveils-octan ... -renderer/
There are currently no plans for such thing.

can we also get caustics in AO since rendering animation in diffuse is not an option because of the speed even with 12 gpus thank you

Guys, just wait.
I'm working on a huge plugin refactoring to make the MaxScript language fully supported and add other important features that require this refactoring.
So I just have no time to sit on the forums currently...

This is all we wanna hear, Jim.
And it's completely understandable that you don't have time to check the forum;
but in the future it would be great if soemeone at Otoy could spend 1 minute to drop a line.
What you guys are working on, plans for upcoming releases...
Give the annoying customers something

Great, I think refactoring the plugin is a good idea, can you include a Random color seed as a per object property so that it sticks to the object?
Agree with Robsteady it would be nice to have a Dev path list at the start of the Max Plugin, outline planned features and just as importantly fixes. That way we know how long we have to keep making up elaborate workarounds.

Thank you Jimstar for stepping up for this.
As a responsible user, as soon as you release this.
I'll do my best to spare extra time to bug report as much as possible and try to ease the process of Renaissance..
Best,
