Yea, I've seen them online, but if it requires coding, I'm SOL. Unless it is GUI based like some webdesign programs are for non coders. So, is there any chance at all of batch render in the near or distant future in Octane?

Batch rendering from a keyboard macro would work, but could be tricky saving the final render (you'd need to save via progressive save).
I have tried setting up the scenes on the same poser file, using each frame as a still so to speak, but it doesn't work. As it goes to the next frame, it acts like an animation, and the figures V4 move trying to transform from the previous frame like an animation. Unless I am doing something wrong? Maybe I need to delete all key frames?
I think this is your best short-tem solution. You need to set keyframes each Poser frame (so frame 1, 2, 3, etc), otherwise frame 3 will interpolate the pose at frame 2. To do this, click the little '+' button (Add Key Frames) for each Poser frame you are going to render.

OK, I will check out keyboard macros, and try adding a key frame to each frame to prevent interpolation between frames.

Another thought. while creating a keyboard macro to save the final render. Could I just manual stop the render at say 1000 samples, save, close viewport, and open next scene?

Just set the "rendertarget" -> "kernel" -> "maxsamples" to 1000, and the render will stop on it's own at 1000. I think saving the image from a macro would be problematic. I still think setting each scene up as a frame in an animation is the best option.

OK, I'll try setting up each scene in a different frame. Thanks.

I had some files, that hadn't any Octane info when i opened them again (rendertarget, materials), while others with a clean path seemed to be stored correctly. I replaced the ! with an underscore '_' and that seemed to work, though.
Hi Uwe - I tried this on both PP2012 and 2014, and could not reproduce the issue you are having. Suggest you try saving a new scene to a folder with a '!' in it and see if it occurs then. If you /do/ get the problem, pls send me the octaneplugin.log.

OK, I checked again, ad it seems to work fine now.
I had the problem with two files I worked on recently, but they now are both saved with the Octane settings. I found an older version of one file and that shows an empty entry:
addonData {"com.physicalc-software.octanerender": {}, "org.snarlygribbly.subdivider": {"preset": []}}
I don't know if that gets stored, too, if you didn't open the plugin at all, though. But I believe I did open it and found the settings missing, that's why I saved the file to a newer copy then.
Very strange, will have an eye on that.
Thanks, Uwe
OK, I found it - or at least
one reproducible way:
open Poser
load a figure or prop from the library
open the Octane plugin and the viewport
close the plugin
open a saved Poser scene, do not save the actual scene
open the plugin
then it will not find the saved settings and start new with the default rendertarget and fresh converted materials.

close the plugin

open the plugin
Thanks Uwe. This is happening on PP2014, but not PP2012. If you open Poser then open the file, it's fine. But if you open Poser, open the plugin, then open the file it doesn't load the settings. I need to download the latest build of PP2014 to see if it's happening there, and if so, why. Will get back to you.

- You can now rightclick the Settings tree and "Load Background Image" to display an image when kernel->alphachannel is Enabled. The background image is not saved when you save the render, and it is not saved with the Poser scene info - it is intended simply to assist getting the scene lighting and positioning correct for a given background image that will composited after rendering in the plugin. The background image is not "fitted" to the Viewport.
- Fixed minor issue when converting a "mesh" to a "scatter" node whilst the Viewport is open.

All good... but how do you clear the background image from session to session or when you just don't want it anymore. Extending the Render viewport out beyond the iamge size still displays the last background image.
Cheers Paul... lovin' Octane!

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread, with....
1.20a5
- If you Disable "alphachannel" after loading and rendering with a background image, the background image will no longer render to the parts of the screen outside the render region (should fix your problem Deane)
- If Poser was shutdown with the OctaneRender Viewport or Setup window off the screen to the left, it will be reset to the left edge of the screen when next displayed (should resolve the issue where the Viewport is opened, but does not display).
There is still an outstanding issue where Octane node info is NOT being loaded when you load a pz3 IF you do NOT save the scene it is replacing. This is a PP2014 issue (not 2012), and I have reported it to Smith Micro.
