Hope this sounds the way it was intended (an honest request)..
Not quite sure what you mean larsmidnatt!
Do you mean the image took a change in direction from where you thought it was going or did my changes/additions take something away from the 1st image?, maybe I should be posting these updates in a WIP section rather than a first pride thread
There is still a lot to do but, I am only just getting a `feel` for how I would like this scene to turn out
I love getting feedback/advice (be it negative or positive) as it will help me learn..

oH sorry for vague response, I mean that in your first image I was scared by the main character. By the third image I was scared of the creature in the background, so your progression is fine. I see you are building up a scene.
I was just trying to be funny, my bad!

No problem, no drama
Don't have an issue with what you said at all

But like you say, it was a little vague
Your last reply was one of the paths my brain took when considering the options

Thanks for elaborating
Warmest regards

Nice posts guys, the way you both show off details is really neat.
@linvanchene I particularly like the beard, almost looks like you can touch it.
@badmilk69 Even though it's not a close up, I think the clothing details stick out nicely.
Here's what I've been working on lately.

Cool quick test. One suggestion when you are finalizing your render, if you do a close up you can turn up the SubD level for the character to 2. This will smooth out the geometry in the shoulder and make things look more convincing. I tend to always turn the character to 2 levels of subd for the final render because I show off a lot of skin and the extra geometry helps keep things looking natural.
For example in the portrait you can see what I mean, the full body shot its not a problem.
