There seems to be that jagged / stepping issue with displacement maps in this version. I reverted back to 2020.1 RC4 and the displacement stepping / jagged issue is not there. Just wanted to give you heads up.

Thanks for all your hard work man!
Share a sample with me please
I shared 2 images above that show how it handles displacement in different ways. Do you want me to share c4d file?[/quote]
Yes sample project please. It maybe about different parameters.

Removed R7 to clean it more, will be available when it's done!

Here is a link to the project. Just FYI I didn't touch any parameters when switching between the two versions of octane.

This happens for me when I export height or displacement maps from substance in 8bit (I always forget to change this), 16bit displacement maps don't have this issue, maybe check the texture you are using for its bit depth.

I hope for the fix fix your issue.

I'm using the exact same maps for the two images you'll see in the previous post. The bit depth of the maps did not change nor did any parameters. The only change was the version of octane. I did try all kinds of different depth maps to make sure this wasn't the case just to make sure. :\

Similar issue with latest 2020 releases. When zoom is set to 1 text on nodes are sharp, above or below 1 text gets blurry.
The default zoom 1 is way too small in my opinion. Between 1 and 1.5 would be perfect.
