I was using the defaults in my original scene (which wouldn't denoise).
Then tried your scene which worked but I couldn't understand what was different.
It was just by chance that I put the samples back to the defaults and the denoisng stopped working again.
Setting them at 4 and 8 from now on.

Hey,
I guess I'm kind of late to the party but I also had problem with the denoising and couldn't figure out what was causing the problem.

The issue in my case was the fact that Octane didn't use my cards to denoise the image.
To fix that I had to go to: Render Properties > Octane Server > Octane Settings: > Device Preferences

and in that pop-up window make sure that both graphic cards have 'Denoising' column checked.

I hope somebody will find that helpful : -)

I just tried using the denoise with the latest version and it didn't work as well. I set it up as usual, but no denoising.

blender also renders much slower than in other dcc.

i said it before and i will say it again, there is something severely wrong with blender plugin.
the support is investigating my reports.

Looks like the team is working on it.

Lino says "If you start the preview and the render doesn't seem to start, please just click anywhere in the viewport and it should work."
