The only network rendering and LiveDB will not be functional in DEMO. And rendered image size is restricted...
So, do not open the LiveDB control inside blender when using DEMO server - it will constantly send LiveDB requests to the server, this will eat the resources and may slow down the responsiveness...

G'Day,
Is the Blender plugin still labelled 'beta'? (haha, just looking for an answer to my ponderings.)
As well, I have to buy the server portion at 99 euro, right?
Just wanting to ascertain my goals.
Thanks.
Robert

If you can't wait for a fix from licence suppport, why don't you try demo version?? I'm trying it, and its new features like opensubdiv, displacement, hair rendering ...
Well I'm on linux and there is no demo there so I'll just wait for this thing to get sorted out (I bumped here cause the main talk should be focused on one thread)

So... there's no way to get motion blur with this plugin, right?

Not right. Motion blur has been in this plugin since 1.X versions, its subframe variant.
It will be improved in next versions to have the opportunity to switch to internal Octane motion blur. But this is a lot of additional work, so it is the reason to not force the users wait some additional time before it gets improved. As users may continue to use the existing motion blur implementation while being able to use all 2.X features and waiting for improved motion blur implementation...
Something like this...

No, subframe is not what I ment — I was talking about Octane's motion blur. Thanks for the clarification!

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the updates.
I wrote to support and this is the reply I received...
Thank you for writing to us.
Sorry for the added suspense. Actually, the initial build has been posted currently on the forums but the announcement at the 'News and Announcements Forum' and the blender upgrade pages on our shop will still follow very soon. Please keep in touch.
Kind regards,
The OctaneRender Team
Does this mean that we can't use/test the updates to 2.xx you just provided us with? This just temp or otoy is waiting until it is an official release that they will then allow user to use it?
Should I uninstall the last upgrade back to 1.55 - 5.2?
Cheers,
~Tung

I rather understood it is ready, but we^re not allowed to use it ... yet, as there seems to be some official announcement first (which is a bit frustrating).
