Thanks

Not sure how strange you want to go - but the renders for this project are done in Octane for Rhino: http://www.camnewnham.com/fibrosity/
Will happily share them - but not sure if they do the engine/plugin justice! Certainly not on the end of hyper-realism.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.5.2.11
- Compiled against Octane 2.05.2. IMPORTANT: This release changes the way the exposure is calculated. See the Octane Standalone release notes for 2.05 for details. The plugin will automatically convert old exposure values from scenes saved with previous versions of the plugin to the new system. However it cannot convert your default or exported rendertargets to the new system, so if using a gamma <> 1, you will to adjust the exposure accordingly, and then Save as Default.
- Fixed potential Rhino crash when editing invalid colors in the new color chooser
- Added new option to sync the Octane environment HDL map to the Rhino HDR environment map. This only changes the IBL texturemap file - not the exposure, etc.
- Fixed rare crash that could occur when changing the Zoom combobox selection
- Fixed issue where the plugin Setup tab tree was flashing when navigating in the Rhino preview window

The latest build is running smoothly, no issues to report! Been using it pretty heavily now for a couple of weeks. Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul ...

I have not used Octane for Rhino for a month or so but am now working on a rendering.

It behaves differently than I am used to. In the past the Octane window was dynamic. I could move the image in Rhino and the Octane window would adjust.

Now when I open the Octane window nothing happens except a little icon in the lower corner of my rhino window (I am using a dual screen setup). This icon looks like it may be the display window but it does not respond to any clicks.

I then have to hit the Rhino render icon (button) to get the display up and it renders fine but it locks up Rhino... can't do anything in the Rhino window as long as the rendering is in progress. This is somewhat disconcerting ... and I can't change settings in the Octane windows either as long as the render process is happening.

cheers,
eric

Thanks Paul ...
Now it is activated but my ID and password are not working. I don't find any way to renew or change my password. Assuming that my ID is correct.
cheers,
eric

PS ... ALL IS WELL ... SORTED OUT THE PASSWORD AND THEN DISCOVERED THAT THE RESOLUTION HAD SOMEHOW RESET TO 200/1 AND NOTHING SHOWED IN THE VIEWPORT. IT SURE WAS RENDERING FAST THOUGH. :)
