Minimalist solutions are often the bests.

Sure seems that way. But from an aesthetic minimalist POV, the canopy and doors as one unit sure is nicer. Too bad it's a dangerous pain in the butt!

And another final render. This one looks nice I think, but it bugs me that HDRI images cannot, by their nature, stop direct light from reaching a mesh, when the background says that the mesh should be in a shadow area:
