Hi Paul,
I usually use 2014 at home, however trying to test some stuff in the trial of 2013 and getting the following error(see attached image). Revit 2013 was installed recently with all updates - the usual folder (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2013\Program). I'm using the Octane for Revit installer at the start of this thread.
Any clues what's causing this error? I've frustrated all my options
p.s. The .addin file seems to install to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2012 rather than C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2013 - I moved it manually - which worked on my mates computer, but not on mine. not sure if its related. I doubt it, since with the .addin in the wrong place the plugin doesn't even attempt to load, whereas in my case it tried to load but cant seem to find the dll...
Thanks,
Andrew
.

Hi Andrew - can you tell me exactly what version you are installing pls (ie. the installer filename)?
EDIT: And what Nvidia drivers are you on pls?

If you have Nvidia drivers prior to the version stated at the top of this thread, the plugin will not be able to find/load the dll.

Hi Paul,
File name is OctaneRender_for_Revit_2013_1_55_0_7_Win64
and I'm using 340.52 performance driver for the Quadro and 340.52 desktop for the 780
A
EDIT: happy to try a different driver, but since I had the other issues with the installer and its not finding a dll, I figured I'd start here first before downloading and trying drivers

I just rebuilt the installer, and installed on my test PC - and it worked correctly. I have uploaded the new installer (OctaneRender_for_Revit_2013_1_55_0_7_Win64.exe) - so can you pls re-download from the top of this thread, uninstall the old version and install this new version and let me know if this resolves your issue pls. You shouldn't need to move the addin file with this new installer.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:
1.55.0.8
- Fixed issue where Save as Default was not working for proxy materials

No, 1.55 is now 12 months old. I recommend upgrading to Octane Standalone and the plugin version 2 - which will give you Revit 2016 support.
