Slimshader
Unfortunately it crashes inside one of Octane engine functions, so the dump is not very useful in this case...:( When an attempt to set the render target and start the render is made, engine does not like some scene data that is loaded (or not loaded) to it and crashes...
I need some scene in which you have these crashes... There are some objects which cause it...

I have had 2 scenes where octane would crash maya repeatedly - it was an object ( octane didn't like) that made it crash both times

- in one scenario it appeared to be related to maya default shading node being attached to the object as well as an octane shader.
- not sure what the other problem was, but it was an object again.

a way to solve is to render parts of the scene and find which object it is, then you can select the problem object 'poly combine' with another object and then separate - this should refresh the polygon data into new objects, make sure you apply a single shader to both. make sure you have distinct names for all objects and that there isn't rogue nodes applied to anything.

jimstar - i'm not sure where we are with motion blur, so I thought I would ask you so everyone knows - is camera motion blur coming to maya soon?

Cheers,
JF.

Sure I'd be glad to pm you some scenes.

They all work perfectly in octane for maya2.58q so it's probably worth while to investigate.

Thanks! The scene will be very useful to find the reason.

Thanks, already working with it.;)

According to your dump file, you have the same crashes as Slimshader has - it happens inside Octane engine function, and I have no debug data from it... Some scene object is the reason...
All is OK on all test scenes that I have and create... Non-Octane materials are not the reason too - I checked it, all is rendered OK with any non-Octane shaders connected - they are just rendered as "Gray material".
So, I still need the scene which have this problem...

Thank you! Fixed.:D
It was wrong UVs of an object - Octane engine gets crazy when UV indices count is less than vertex indices count...
