I'm really enjoying the latest build! Displacement maps have been extremely useful.
The one feature i had some queries about was the edge round option.
I've found it to be extremely useful in vray4c4d but the way it seems to be implemented in octane c4d doesn't seem quite right.
I find that the bevels get stretched based on the polygon size its applied to. Whereas vray keeps a consistent bevel size regardless of geo.
Is this something that you might be able to look at? or is it more to do with the octane core, (not the cinema adaptation).
Any info or future plans on this would be super good to know as its a simple but very very useful feature.
Thanks again for your hard work on the plug.

This is a issue Renderer's. I'm sure development team is aware of this. As understand, they are trying to keep interactivity. This causes some problems on some features. We hope that may be better, thanks enjoy it.

1. possibly, you need to update to latest standalone 2.01. Also macosx energy saving function makes the render daemon is sleeping.
So pls disable this from info window of octane_slave or octane_daemon application.

2. I don't aware this. You should not need for baking except objects which has dynamic simulation.

3. yes, expensive. Two option will help. Power and sampling of emissions. Optimisation is a work of Octane team. We hope that.

4. need some sample to check it. There is a different behaviour on objects which have objecttag.
1. I've updated it to 2.0.1 Standalone. Will try to disable that but is that the reason for c4d to not be able to distribute the render to the Pc (Slaves)? They were just working for LV.

2. Camera inside an align to spline i guess is also not providing coordinates for motion blur to grab onto. These two images show the result when switching from a baked align to spline from a live one. Not sure it warrants a fix more so than an fyi for any spline paths camera moves.

3. Got it.

4. Ok I'll have to test some more. Thanks.

Sorry - I am a bit confused. What is the latest build of the plugin?
I am using 2.00.24 at the moment.

Hey Ron,

I believe I'm using the latest version (on the first page of this thread) 2.01 (it uses the latest sdk) for both mac and pc.

hi aoktar,
about speed in 2.0 ….

in the first post you mention the render speed of 2.0
is it significantly slower than 1.5 ? did anyone speed tests ?
maybe it is faster to work in 1.5 for some projects if the 2.0 features are not needed?

Hi,
Displacement in Version 2.01.02 does not work well for me. For native C4D shader takes a very long time to execute the operation (Shader C4d Render to Texture) .. If the operation is interrupted, the cinema 4d crashes. In the previous version I had with native shaders no problem.

because it uses displacement's resolution for rendering the native shaders

Hallo aoktar,

I have found a bug.

the invert will not work in the displacement.
textures in the image, nor the noise shaders.

Hi, I found something strange. When I activate render region, the zone that is updating isnt exactly the square that I drew, its slightly displaced... its normal?
