Hi,

This one is actually strait out of 3DS Max and Vray, so am doing more tests, as this has never been noticeable before, and like has been said here I felt it could be more a renderer error rather than viewer.

We are looking to migrate to Octane due to the amount of VR we are starting to do and also readiness for ORBX 3.0 scripting.

I had emailed OTOY about a the possibility of getting a unlimited/unlocked 30 day demo so we can test and output some VR renders but I have had no reply as yet.

Regards

James

Hi

Does anyone know what code I could use to re-orientate the camera when loading the next cube map through a hotspot tour.

If I move to another space via a hotspot the viewpoint is aligned to the last view orientation and I would like every space to load as front cube view first.

Regards

James

Hi

Is anyone else suffering with overheating issues while using the ORBX viewer with the Gear VR?

We are really pushing ORBX viewer at the moment as we have a commercial walk through about to go out. It is a walk through loading 12 18k cube maps as a hotspot tour, but after 15 minutes of constant use the phone overheats, we have managed to get 30min with a cool pack.

We have a Unity tour that works with no overheating and have never had a problem loading the images individually with ORBX or 360 Photos.

So is this overheating issue down to ORBX having to load all 12 cube maps at tour start, causing the phone to overheat?

Is there any code I could add to optimise load vs overheating? We have tried the max mem limit between 400mb and 1gb with no difference.

Hi,

can someone please explain me if it's possible to have .mp4 video with transparency inside VR tour? As mentioned few pages back, to use transparency I have to have RGB channel in the upper half of the video, and the alpha channel in the lower half. I'm not using stereo video so I think I don't need to append _TBLR filename tag. I've tried with and without _TBLR, only _TB and without any tags and nothing works :(

One more question about hotspots. Goldorak said that is possible to have text appear above or below the image by using 'text' or 'title' string. But as I'm just a 3d artist, I know nothing about writing code so I'm not sure where to put this string :?

onRollover =
{
[248] = { link = "Poslovna", image = "arrowglow_dolje1000.png", },

Many thanks and sorry if I asked stupid questions. I've been trying to get this to work for days and had no luck.

Hi,

Our first commercial Gear VR hotspot tour has been received really well. Is there any further news on ORBX 3.0 yet?

The latest version has been running great with no issues.

We're working on some important live streaming features in the next release - we've successfully gotten our light field viewer streaming to a GVR from a URL, among other things. It looks about as good as the original Vive demos, although running at 60 not 90 fps. We haven't tested the position tracking input form the GVR light house server, but that will be next.

Hi, Its been some time since I posted here (about a year) and I'm still trying to understand what I need to do in order to be able to convert an 18k sequence to a movie using ORC. Ideally I would like to be able to convert sequences from other renderers also. I would also love to just see an existing sequence and learn more about ORBX 3.0. So..................a few questions that I hope you can answer :-)

1. What license do I need to buy in order to get access to ORC - every time I have tried to access ORC during the last year I get a message saying 'access to ORC is currently unavailable' which has put me off from buying a license.

2. Is there an offline convertor I can use to produce the OKX textures from source 18k images, or just ORC ? And anyway from Carmacks talk I had understood that compression/codecs were not strictly necessary for spooling these of GPU memory when did OKX come into play?

3. can I get a copy of the Batman Arkham 18k sequence demo you did for Warner Bros that was mentioned here - http://www.roadtovr.com/first-look-batm ... ideo-tech/ back in 2015 - I found an APK online but somewhat unsurprisingly this doesn't work due to some kind of restriction -- it would be great to just see one even if its not possible to make one!

4. Can you provide a link to the ORBX 3.0 thread you mention - I cannot find it.

Thanks in advance - maybe 2017 is the year I finally make an 18k sequence !! ^^
