I have been using it all the time since it was introduced
In the top of the viewport there are a number of buttons - hover over them and one is for material picking, one for white balance and one for set the focus. Clicking it again disables the feature.
The color picker in the material section works on the viewport as well when you select the pick button in the RGB node

Cool, thanks! Except for the Stop, Render, and Save buttons, I really couldn't tell you what is there. Time to change that it seems.

How do I get rid of this really annoying message when opening a file that was saved with the latest plugin loaded.

Maybe a setting somewhere to toggle error messages on or off?

That message should only popup when you load a pz3 file last saved with version 1.20 of the plugin. If you save the file that is popping that message, then reload that file, do you still get the message?

Deane - can you pls start Poser, load the scene giving you the error, open the plugin (don't open the Viewport), then send me the octaneplugin.log file pls.

Thanks

Paul

Nope... I can't... 'cause it's not happening now... I did however reset Poser to factory default after this was happening. Still getting this "PoserPro has stopped working" error between closing and opening or starting a new scene. I was trying to resolve this issue by resetting to factory defaults.
Sorry to trouble you Paul and if you know what causes the "Poser stop working error" then that would be great. I'm just short of re-installing Poser, but I suspect that isn't the issue.

I had the same popup.
I was using PP2012 and the plugin vers. 1.25.xx while I was creating the scene.
When I was now loading this scene with the updated plugin vers. 1.29.xx, I always had this popup, too.
As suggested, I re-saved the same scene with 1.29.xx. The popup does not appear any more. :)

The log ( plug-in setup window -> Cuda Device -> Show Log *when the error was still appearing*) said the following:

Edit:
I noticed now, that there's no "preferences_v2" file in the above (by the log) mentioned folder. Perhaps that's why there're so many "not found" lines, hehe.
