First off thank you Aoktar!

My issue is that whenever I drag an image file from the file explorer onto an ImageTexture node it doesn't replace the image file in it, it just creates a new ImageTexture node. This happened with the latest 2022 update as well, but no before that. Hope this can be fixed cuz it's a crucial feature. Thanks!
Can you disable "PBR textures=disabled" in Settings/Nodes and try again and report the result?
It's related with this option and ignores the file replacement when it detects you drag a PBR set. I'm changing the behavior to replace file name when you drop over an ImageTexture and ignores the PBR set detection.

That did it! Thanks

Posting here because no one from Otoy is responding in the main (standalone) releases thread.
Aside: Work is 7days, I don't know why Otoy has people on Mon-Fri and seemingly only in a couple of timezones. My Monday is Sunday in the US so I don't support on (my) Mondays?
Anyway

Does anyone know if 2023.1 has netrender (Mac/PC) back yet????

They've been saying all year "yeah in 2023 probably" but there's no real yes/no in the 2023.1 post. Is it? When? I mean, if it's not in this one, could they at least say "hey sorry it's not but coming soon". And if it is, could they say "hey it is"? Instead there's nothing, like if they pretend it's not a thing, we'll forget about it or something...

Thanks
Alex

I notice ies light won't work if the light Area Shape is set as a Disk. only works as Rectangle in this version.

Hi Alex,
we have already talked about this several times, multi platform Net rendering is planned for the next major update, after 2023.1:

Most likely, 2023.2 version will be named 2024.1, so "hey sorry it's not but coming soon" ;)

ciao,
Beppe

I'm aware of your posts, thanks to you for the scene. I'll give attention for that but you need to wait a little. We have several new problems with Maxon's 2024 updates.
Thank you very much ! I noticed that Octane works with Cloner in Multi-Instance mode now. It is great step forward.

Moreover: The "cilinder light analytic" and "disc light analytic" are inverted in relation to its rotation axis - discs have inverted normal and cilinders are 90 degrees inverted in respect to its relative primitive versions.
I reported here during beta versions. Must have been overlooked.

R2 is out!
Note that Scatter object+effector combination will crash on latest C4D build(2024.1.0). Be stay with previous C4D build in case

Would it be possible to share a scene which shows the difference in speed between primitive & analytic lights? I did a few tests and I don't see any increase in speed (the primitives are actually faster in cleaning the noise) which probably means I'm missing something. Also, is it possible to change the shapes & colours of the lens flare?
Any ETA on this? This is one of the few features I was really excited for in the last few releases, so it's a bummer it is not working (for me at least).
