Hi guys, when i load aces ocio 1.2 config and switch to ocio in LV, is there any chance to increase the contrast of the image ? LUTS, gamma, etc doesnt work, only exposure and saturation. Is there any way to postprocess the image ? It would be fantastic. Cuz sometimes it looks flat and dull.

Thanks, Lev

is there a walkthrough/instructions somewhere on how to set up render passes in this new AOV system? I can't seem to render out any passes from a file I had set up in an earlier octane plugin release. no matter what aov passes i add the final exr has only one layer in it. i'd like to know if anyone can point me to some basic setup instruction or tutorial.
thank you, Rod.

Hi Lev,

That is not how ACES is purposed, in particular, when loaded via OCIO in Octane. Such operations would need to be using scene-referred formulas and properly "chained".
You could use ACES LMTs/OCIO Looks if you have the knowledge to do so, but instead, I would highly suggest you to consider a different (and better suited) solution for you. ACES is not meant to be used by everyone for everything.

In my blog post https://www.elsksa.me/blog/cgi-color-ma ... rvival-kit you will find Octane examples and a download link for Filmic by Troy. It contains contrast-look which I am certain is what you would like to play with. Most importantly, you will acknowledge the fundamentals and basics of color management and image processing for offline rendering.
Edit: I have added Octane related blog-posts including one related to color management (and many more to come). They can be all find here: https://www.elsksa.me/octane.

Feel free to reach out to me via Discord ELSKSA#4465 or on my socials depending on your preferences, and I can assist you further in both Octane and in post.

Best,
ELSKSA

Any ideas?

Regards,
I have the same exact issues. I was able to get it close by adjusting my IES light output +/- 1000x less to get approximately the same results. There is definitely a problem here.

Sure something is going on. The point is we should have it fixed for future builds.
Or never import ongoing projects to avoid this problem - just make sure this is something expected by the developers or not.
