KonstantinosD wrote:I have also the same problem on two PC's one is Win7 and one Win10, all 64. The win10 says this program has stopped working and needs to close everytime I close C4D. The win7 hangs in the process manager and it doesn't close. All is happening with every other plugin removed and just the octane plugin in the folder. If I remove the octane plugin and keep all the others C4D closes normally. I've also deleted the appdata octane folder in both pc's. What is interesting is that since a 2-3 versions now, when i close C4D on the home PC and go to the office it asks me to retry to login so i have to (using teamviewer) go to home pc open octane and manually log out before I'm able to login to the other one. It happens on both PC's and internet is fine. It used to be automatic and release the license every time I closed Octane. So I'm thinking maybe it has to do with octane not signing out properly every time we close C4D?
If you are forcing C4D to quit the plugin is quite likely not being able to release the license. If you do not want to run out of unlocks on the web you may want to try signing out from the plugin before closing the application.

It used to work fine in previous versions is all i'm saying..
Also what do you mean run out of unlocks? I just sign out from the C4D app or Octane app on my PC and then sign in on my other PC. Is there a limit for that?

Hi KonstantinosD,
don't worry, deactivating your active license via Teamviewer is the best option so you have not to use the Unlock button in your OctaneLive page without reducing the counter, that should be used only in extreme situations.
The weird thing is why your license is not deactivated on exit

I sure would like to get this figured out. Since cinema isn't closing properly, any user preference changes I make are never saved. Anyone come up with a workaround? I'd like to help anyway I can. Octane is the only plugin loaded and when I remove it the problem is gone.

Octane 3.06.1
Cinema R18
Latest Windows 10 (this problem has been going on for months now)

Thanks for any help

OK, I am having this same issue. It is really frustrating because I cannot then use Octane on my laptop as it doesn't release the license properly.

Windows 10 Pro Ver.1703 OS Build: 15063.296
C4D R18.048 (Build RB197636)
Octane 3.06 (3060005)

I've attached screenshots of my plug-ins folders, system info and the task manager showing the stuck background process.

This only happen when I use octane in a scene. If I exit C4D without ever touching Octane there are no problems. Please let me know if I can provide you more information on this bug.

As a workaround, do I always need to sign out from the account tab very time until you can fix this plug-in?

Cool, Alt+F4 seems to close and release the license properly. thank you for the tip!

Hopefully I can remember to close C4D that way from now on. What still sucks for me is if I forget to close it with Alt+F4 and try to use on my laptop I'll need to make a trip back to my office again.

Do you think this will be fixed?

It was not an easy/detectable issue. Check it with 3.06.2 and drop some feedback. viewtopic.php?f=85&t=60816
