I think the double sided material is in there as the 'Polygon Side'.
hi prodviz, can you please share how it works? do you have an example I can take a look at?

. make octaneMixMaterial in amount option use octanePolygonSideTexture

octaneMixMaterial ==== meterial 1 is outside
meterial 2 is inside

:D
Thanks for the Tip, but my Maya is crashing everytime I assign the OctanePolygonSideTexture to the amount option..

I switched to 2.20 for a test and it works fine ~ which is a relief ~ and I discovered why my scenes created with 2.15 were not working ~ looks like the "Keep Environment" Option has been removed ~ so I had to go back to older files and uncheck "Alpha channel" under the Kernel Tab.

JimStar, just wondering why "Keep Environment" was removed?

Yeah... So we've been trying this new version and................. we go back to 2.15.

There still is the crash with the sidematerial which make it useless I must say.

I am still wondering how to use the ObjectLayer ID which could be a life saver, but until now there was absolutely no answer from the dev team to my 4 messages.

Does anyone knows how to?

Sorry for the pissed of feeling of my remark, but I have been asking this question since V2.0 and never got any answer.

Thanks

Ciboulot, are you referring to the OctanePolygonSideTexture when you say sidematerial?

YEp,

I am talking about the polygonsidetexture. We tried this on many scenes and still the same result.

Don't get me wrong, I am the first to know that any new release is subject to bugs etc, and don't blame anyone about it. It is normal. And the dev team is doing a great work. We made about 6 commercials with octane and it is fantastic.

Bye

Hi, It looks like the surface brightness attribute in the black body emission does nothing, for example I want to make a polygon surface very bright like a light bulb, but when I check the box nothing happens the surface stays grey like it wasn't emitting light at all.
