We use different Octane versions for different projects so when it comes to setting up slaves you you forget to deactivate slaves connected to a master those slaves are now useless until you install that version of octane again and deactivate them.
& You do that because?

I use the Cinema 4D plugin. And in conjunction with standalone every version is a little bit different. If I open a project rendered in 1.12.0 into 1.20.0 there is a difference in lighting and color. So say I need to re render 10 frames for a client. Cool lets just hit render... NOPE. When the new frames get added there's a difference in lighting/color. So to prevent this every job we have requires an octane version that you then stick with so you don't have to end up using blend frames or any other hack job. So to make this easier for the artists I have created in-house plugins that will determine your octane version and swap out versions with the click of a button. I should have never had to resort to that.
