Hello Saramary!
Thanks for your answer!
I just experienced an odd thing. Back when I submitted this question the first time, I tested in Blender and "ctrl + P" worked as I expected it would with no rotation or distortion to the projected geometry. This time I did not even test only Blender because I just expected it to still work the same. I tested it now, and it turns out that it rotates the projection 180 degrees in both Cycles and BI. That´s easy enough to fix though by rotating it 180 degrees again. When it rotates 90 degrees though, on a non square image, you get distortion of the projected image. The amazingly strange thing is that yesterday (as you saw on my attached image) the "ctrl + p" command rotated my projection 90 degrees causing distortion, but today when reproducing the exact same geometry from scratch with Octane plugin version, it rotates 180 degrees... 180 degrees is not a problem. Pardon for taking up space and time for a problem that apparently solved itself over night =) Thanks a lot for trying to understand it and reproduce it!
I´ll ask about this behavior in a Blender forum instead. As of now (180 degrees) I can live with it, but I still find it a bit strange.
Cheers!
