Thanks everyone for sending me sample renders. The response has been quite overwhelming, and I have nearly 40 images - so thank you! I have passed them on to Otoy.

Hi to all!

Here my first 3D grass (proxies of course):

Great work Artur - and thanks for sharing. Did you look into rendering with camera motion blur? You can use displacement for grass in Octane 2 which will give you another option.

Details in the Octane 2 version of the plugin are at http://render.otoy.com/manuals/ArchiCAD/?page_id=353.

Thanks, Paul :D

I read already abot the new features of Octane 2 - but it isn't accesible yet, is it?
(If yes: where?)

Camera Motion Blur is available in version 2.0 of the ArchiCAD plugin currently in closed beta testing, and will be in the next 1.5 release of the plugin. My apologies for thinking it was in the current 1.5 version.

OK, no problem!

Another issue:
I've got some little problems by using Spehrical Camera + Post Processing; the rays are overlayed there as "straight" rays.
So when the panorama is viewed then in a viewer, where the spehrical image is "converted" to a undistorted, the rays are
bended then, of course. Here an example (screenshot):

The tour itself ("Marktplatz CAD-Modell", on the very right where the thumbnails are) http://www.lau-net.de/p.sydenham/Johann ... 40527.html
(the tour shows my hometown, by the way)

The second point is that if the rays are near to a border of the image, they are not "warped" around to the other side of the image.

You think you can fix that?

And a question about stereo output: is it possible to let Octane render a left/right picture - as an alternative to the filtered single image?
Would be great...

Many greetings,
Artur

Hi Artur

If you are using the spherical camera - you are generally creating a HDRI map - so you shouldn't use any post processing to generate the HDRI (with the spherical camera) - use the post processing on the render that is using the the generate HDR map for it's lighting. So in summary, don't use post processing when using the spherical camera.

Stereo Output - to is enhanced quite a bit in Octane 2.0, where you have 2 stereo modes, and 4 different output formats - so that will allow you to separate render left and right channels.

Well, I'm en route to produce a panorama-video. Doing a workaround for a single image is no problem - but not for a video.
That's a pity...don't know now how to get a nice sun in there

But nice to read that Octane 2.0 will have some 3D options :D
Any rumour abut the release?

Greets, Artur
