Does it start happen right after 1.12 get installed?
Does anyone else has this problem?

Great version, love the ability you can change the sun and sky colors. Only problem, is their an option to reset this to default state.
Thanks.

does 1.12 support 224 textures? Titan textures number?
gabriele,
I havent read or know that titan had larger texture limit.
In 1.12 Titan shows support a total of 232 textures so as gtx680's and other keplers. (144rgba+10rgb64+68grey+10grey16)
here I read 224. The GTX 680 doesn't support so many textures.

I'm guessing the texture limit is mainly because of the cuda version. But Titan is capable of using it.
Still guessing that the software has to be adjusted to that..

The texture units they mention in the article are hardware units, part of each streaming multiprocessor (SM). The number of texture units is not the reason for limitations in texture counts, but the way how textures are defined and used in CUDA. Depending on the compute model a different (hard-coded) number of texture references can be used: All GPUs with compute model < 3.0 (Tesla, Fermi) support up to 128 texture references. All GPUs with compute model >= 3.0 support 256 texture references.
We use some texture references for some other stuff, but the rest for image textures in materials. Hence the limited texture counts, i.e. 104 image textures (64+32+4+4) for pre-Kepler GPUs and 232 (144+68+10+10) for Kepler GPUs (including the GTX 680).

With an open viewport, it is impossible to change the model, max immediately gives the crash.

I think but not 100% sure about that :
Every scene created with octane 1.11c that i try to open after installing 1.12 generate an "unknown system exception" and can't be saved => file corrupted.
It's also the case of scene that don't use octane : i build a scene for vray as octane 1.11c was installed and can't open it now.
Even if I try to reverse to 1.11c (copy / paste old files in 3dsmax root folder) the problem is the same ...
I can't understand what appends but at this stage octane is definitly not for production and i have to spend one day to rebuild scenes from scratch (reimport geometries into a brand new scene and recreate lighting and render parameters)

Nope, every thing else is ok.
Windows disk error check is ok.

For me it works great !
There are no problems in my scene.
Tanks a lot for your quick work Karba

I just found the cause of my problem :
PhysX
I just re-install the plugins and every thing is ok now
But I can't uninstall PhysX for 3dsMax because scenes created while physx was in makes 3DS crashs without
Karba, sorry

octane is ok. Good work as usual
