It seems that matte don't work as expected just with sun. We need to add an extra octane light... ?

Animation rendering not working correctly.
Sometimes it works, but offten it doesn't render a frame until Max sample rate is reached, but finishes early.
That causes flickering cause some frames get rendered with very low samples per pixel.
At the moment it's not usable for animation work.
Seems like more bugs appear with every new feature that gets added. 1.03 is the latest usable version at the moment.

Can confirm that! Frames are not "stabe"! One is darker - next one is brighter, again next one darker and so on! Flickering! Especially if you use Post processing! No matter if you use sunlight or an hdri!

Also the Material Editor previews the Materials wrong!

Realtime Animation is also not possible anymore! when i click play nothing happens, when stopping the animation the render viewport starts again!

Material preview and Realtime Animation suddenly works again after a few restarts! I am trying to reproduce the problem!

Ok, I can reproduce this issue.
Will fix it soon.
