A Few things I have found out testing this Beta.
1) Maps don't display in the max viewport until you assign a diffused basic material colour to an object and then reassign a material with a map to that object.
2) When assigning the material with a map attached to an object, you have to refresh the octane live viewport to see the update. You don't need to do this if you just assign a standard diffused coloured material.
I will check.

3) if you set up a scene up with a rectangular light and set a high exposure in perspective view, then switch to an octane camera, you lose the exposure setting in the octane live viewport even though the imager still shows the previously set exposure
In this case you have to use Octane Camera settings.
Ok Thanks for the Info

Thank you Karba! Very nice job. Works just fine. No extreme improvements needed now. Rendering stability is more then enough as for beta. Using it as complete production render and I love it!

Material previews are great!.......but I am having problems with the Octane Camera. I am getting a crash as soon as I try and open the camera view. Sometimes when I am placing the camera. Is there some secret way of setting it up? or are there still some problems with it?
Thanks -ak

great update.. I love the way octane lights work now
would it be possible to convert standard materials to octane3dmaxplugin materials, for instance I am testing out ivygrower which has built in textures, in standard materials, and now I have to find out a way to convert that to octane, either reapplying the whole thing to octane (it has like 15 materials assignes - a bit of pain in the ass) and now I'm thinking ok I'll convert to vray materials and then use octane's vrayconversion, the standard to octane should be implemented..
Or does anyone have an idea how to workaround that

Don't use space navigator if you use one.
