Amazed with the speed of pathtraceing, it´s cleaning up so fast I started dreaming of a jungle scene when instanceing arrives.
This is supposed to be a low detail three, but if change leaves material it work ok as detailed too

If can can fake some sss, and not use a 18kb leaf texture :)

This looks ok after 3min, if not for white diffuse ground I guess even faster, but it´s just a test for verts.
3million, and 0 problem, base three is 150 000.

I´m so happy with this engine/plugin, if instancing work I will fineally have my dreamtool for fast Vue alternative :D
Large white dots are roughness 0.01, should be 0.0 I guess.

Great render :) but the leaves are a bit too glossy, but perhaps you wanted to show the speed of pathtracing in itself.

They are ment for far away gloss, never thought pathtraceing was able 2 clean up so fast if close up.

Need a different glossyness only sss can do, but perhaps a better texture will help he he, I do bow 2 the genious who made Octane work this wonderful in Max

In case no one else has worked this one out yet.You can use the AEC items in max with various octane materials rather than collapsing them to a mesh first.

tested with a standard AEC Bifold door

1) assign a standard max multi/sub object material to the AEC object
2) Assign octane materials as sub Materials. The bifold door for example seems to use no's 1 through 5
3) if your using wood materials and need to rotate the grain , put a edit poly modifier on the stack, highlight the polys you need to twist and place an xform modifier above that on the stack, then rotate the UV map

This way you can still open and close the doors / windows with octane materials added instead of collapsing the AEC object to a mesh and then applying the materials.

The only thing that does not seem to work currently are textures in the material previews in the Sub materials, but as they do not work yet on the material preview balls , i'm not really surprised.

I am using your latest Max plugin and I have a lot of noise in every rendering that is not in a daylight bright scene. The Noise is Killing me! This is a simple medicine cabinet from Evermotion. To provide light inside the cabinet I added 4 blackbody emmission tube lights to the corners of the inside. I have tried every setting for Direct, Path and PMC. I have changed materials from diffuse to glossy etc....but have had no success getting rid of the noise. I have also read the posts and changed to millimeters...No Help. What"s next?

Thanks

Can you share the scene?
You can send it to [email protected].
I will check what problem is.

The inside walls of the cabinet, do they have a diffuse or glossy material.
