I sometimes get the CUDA parameter error as well with my GTX 760.
I had been working without problems for about an hour, then I deleted an object in poser and I got lots of these errors.

I don't have time to do a more comprehensive error report right now, but I will try to see if I can reproduce the problem tomorrow.

A suggestion:
It is probably a good idea that smooth is disabled by default, but clicking it on lots of materials is pretty cumbersome.
What about adding a right click menu option on meshes that will enable/disable smooth? Very often the full mesh is either smooth or not smooth.
Such a feature would remove a lot of boring clicking in the materials tab when setting up a scene.

The latest build of the plugin doesn't save renders in folders with special characters...

I can confirm there is an issue refreshing a scene - so that will impact rendering animations too. It looks like the problem was introduced with Octane API 1.28. I have logged the error with Otoy - and will report back once I know more. For the moment, I suggest rolling back to the previous version of the plugin (1.25.0.17).

Would that fix the problem with the special characters as well?

I'm pretty sure the the special characters in the save folder problem has been in the plugin since it was first released. I'll fix it in the next release.

I will see if this can be done.

I did a build with 1.27 but had a small issue with it that was fixed in 1.28. So 1.25 is the better option at the moment.

You can use the current Poser 1.28 build - it just means you need to close and reopen the Viewport - rather than clicking "Refresh". If the error is something in the plugin, I should have it fixed soon. If it needs a change to the Octane API, it will need to wait for 1.29. Otoy have been releasing new versions every 1-2 weeks lately.

I think the only different for Poser users between Octane 1.25 and 1.28 was a fix to the environment lighting.

Actually it hasn't been a problem until now. I've always saved my renders in a folder with Icelandic characters. It's not a huge problem. I'll just use another folder until next build. I was immediately hooked on the white balance picker so I don't want to go back to earlier versions :)

I know what you mean - white balance picking is so much fun. You get an instance change in the look and feel of the render. I'm hooked too!
