You mean so you don't have to hardcode all the different flags to octane? You would still need to add them though..
Anyway, when rib/collada is supported, i think this script becomes obsolete...

is this a bug or?

2010 version works.. I've never had any problem with this.
BTW Check your installation, you are using the (old) 2008 version.
Install max2octane
1.022d for max 2010+

But we will always need some sort of script to control the different Octane flags no?

Radiance should probably answer this, but i doubt there will be any problem getting all necessary data from the other exporters (collada etc)
But i really don't know

Hi,
I think our exporter plugins/scripts will never be obsolete.
Whatever the backend format is, they will only improve.
We're currently using OBJ, which is just a simple object format with simple materials,
yet it still requires plugins to control octane.
When we switch to another format with more features, the scripts remain usefull for controlling features unique to octane,
and they can still implement whatever format works best for the host app in question.

Hi~I install the scripts correctly(in max2009x64) and export to obj file,everything is correct except I going to hit the "Render" button~~~
When I hit render,it jump out the export process window,when I hit done,that should be start Octane and render,but octane is not~what's up??
BTW,I use max2octane_1.022c + 3dsmax2009x64 +xp64,but i am not sure that if 1.022c suit for 2009?~~

I'm getting this same "obj not usable" error, with the latest script and max 2009... the render button gives the error too (not just animation)

1.022c? I guess you mean 1.022d. Anyway that is for max2010+, you have 2009 so....use the other (Max2Octane 1.022_2008b max2008/2009 version)
I changed the text so it is more clear.
@Proupin: Same goes for you, use Max2Octane 1.022_2008b max2008/2009 version

yes, I'm talking about the latest compatible version with 2009, that would be 1.022_2008b
