When I press button 'P' or right click on render buffer screen - and choose color picker - and I move my mouse on grey screen - it shows colors. (bottom picture) Render buffer screen works only when I zoom in or out. (top picture) Doesn't work in any kind of scene, tried different settings, can't figure it out. It worked fine with 2020.1.5. I have latest Nvidia studio driver.
Cinema 4D R20
Thanks,
it's a confusing post. R20 or R23? And why it's ok on first pic?

EDIT: It's an issue for R20, can't fix it. Why do you prefer R20?

Hello,

Not sure if this should happen, but the sss bounces a blue tint. Is that accurate and its caused by my material?
Made with R23.

Many thanks!

I get the same as you do. Your material needs work. The medium colors need to be adjusted and your density value (need higher). I would also experiment with the better Random Walk medium.

Phong is not interfering in this case.
Actually playing with the gamma (from 2.2 to 1) actually fixxes the issue. Is there a guideline on how you should Normal maps be set? Some maps work better than others. Is there any issue I am not aware of?

Truth be told, I ve done dozens of chocolate renders. Never had an issue like this no matter colour combination. The density is not relevant, same as random walk which is not "better" but different approach.

The fact that you get the same as me is cause you opened my scene :)

So I might be wrong, and blue is on the opposite side of spectrum but i doubt that this is something that I should be seeing here.

I have the same issue and I don't intend to switch from R20 soon (lots of plugins ...).
The Live Viewer A/B view is not working, store render buffer is not working and this is a HUGE problem that should be dealt with.

Now, my friend useruser found a workaround, so Aoktar, I think this should be fixable in R20:

Enable "Lock resolution" and change the y-axis resolution to something other than 1:

That's it. You can change both values so they match, but the important one is the second one.
It does even work when you set it to 1.01 and leave the other at 1.

It's not directly about me, DrawBitmap function is not working as should in R20. What is causing it don't know, but looks like a R20 problem. I cannot estimate every pitfalls of different host versions before implementing new functionality. I'm always trying to fix the issues after user feedbacks, sometimes it's much harder than writing new features because of restricted support on hosts. Your feedbacks is valuable, will look around to solve why this damn function doesn't work as in other versions.

Hey, Aoktar
The shader preview window speed is great. However it got a bit buggy in this version.
For me, I have found the preview window having issues when:

1. I convert shaders to Octane
2. When I import shaders from Local LiveDB

In these cases, I must individually update each material by right clicking on the shader editor's preview window - for 15 shaders or even more, it may become an annoying task.
Other people have also reported in facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OctaneR ... 8626767207
Regards,

I just tested it - it works perfectly with R20 and 2020.1.5 R4

So something must have changed in 2020.2
