Hello,

I have repetitive and random crash with octane.dll when I just turn on the Octane live viewer.

I am on latest version of c4d plugin and Nvidia Driver on 441.66.

I attached the octanelog and the bug report.

[EDIT] It seems that a wrong texture path caused the crash. I was using several Kitbash3d elements and when I wanted to relink textures, c4d picked up the texture path from the wrong pack (yes... some texture file name are similar from a pack to another). I still don't know why it would crash but I relinked everything with the right pack and everything ran smooth.

It's a crash on the renderer. Does it help if you turn off the "multi-threading for materials"?

After the new Windows Update the plugin dont work correct. if i fire up octane c4d crashes or it dont render in the live viewer, please help! I can not work with this.

More info would be great! What do you see in console/c4doctanelog.txt and also in bugreport.zip?

There is no bug report. Cinema 4d stops responding and I have to end it via the task manager. Its windows 10 with two Titan RTX 24GB and the newest C4D version of R21 with Nvidia Studio Driver 442.19 . After the new windows update i dont can fire up octane.

c4doctanelog.txt is always available. Btw you can downgrade to old driver for a solution.

Sorry but it is not a available. I use the setup with the Nvidia Studio Driver 442.19 since weeks no Problem now windows installed the new update KB4535996 it dont works.

i install the old 441.66 driver now octane crashes directly with a error. And i get this:

I have found that if there are many Octane materials in a .c4d file, octane gets stuck with c4d. If I delete all the unused materials and i only have the used materials in the scene, octane renders normally and quickly. But i i use the c4d files 3 weeks with the same amount of unesd material without any problem. After the new windows update the plugin made this problems. thats strange...

But, that cannot be the solution that I have to delete materials that are not used from the c4d file. It may also be that I need several materials.

And i now make a nother test with a different scene, the Octane Plugin dont start to render, without a error message it freze.
