I have installed the 2.25 version in the winows10 system, finally I have closing the rhinoceros 5 (64bit), the process of computer memory was overflow, stuck unable to move.
And windows 8 64bit was also that, only windows7 works well.
Hi - can you pls only report problems in a single place - not multiple thread.
Thanks

visibility bug

Hello Paul,
I was very happy when I read that the object based visibility option was fixed, however I found out that this does only seem to work as long as the objects are not behind other transparent objects like e.g. a glass plane.
I have attached a screenshot that illustrates the problem: the red object is supposed to be invisible but becomes visible when it is obstructed by the glass.
attached please also find the scene.

I hope that it is possible to fix this bug in short time, since I really need this feature right now...

another hint, the behaviour seems to be related to the specular material, using glossy or diffuse material for the glass plane with an opacity value < 1 does not show the bug....

...similar thing: although the object is not visible, it is still being reflected and casts shadows...

Hi Andreas - turning off object visibility does not remove the vertices from the scene - it just sets the opacity to 0. So try reducing the Kernel->Ray Epsilon. If that does not work, export to ORBX and post on the Octane Standalone test release thread so the Otoy devs can comment.
Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul, I did a few more tests, tried out Ray epsilon and made another box with a green material on it the materials opacity was set to 0.
As I expected changing ray epsilon did nothing, also the material with the 0 opacity does not show any bugs.
I also did an orbx export and the bug also shows up in octane standalone.
I will do another test with octane 3 beta and then post in the release thread as you suggested.

Hello Paul,
I found that the "hide" feature with proxies attached to blocks does not seem to work sometimes.
I attached a zip file with a rhino file and a orbx file to illustrate the problem.
when I check the "hide" checkbox , deselect the block and then reselect it again the check is gone.
can you repeat this ?

Yes, both Hide and the Scale/Rot From Block Instance checkboxes are not being saved. This will be fixed in the next release.

Hello Paul,
is it possible to implement the "live update" feature also for rhino blocks?

Rhino block instances always have live update ON.
