It's to avoid going through the long process of exporting the animation when you want to change things in standalone like maybe you want to move stuff, edit the obj, subD a mesh and so on.
face_off wrote:Not sure what you mean here. If I set a camera position at frame 1 and another at frame 30 and then export to ORBX, the camera positions at each frame re correctly stored in the Thin Lens Camera node when loaded into Standalone.
The test I did didn't do that. The camera only moved at keypoints. It didn't take the smooth path as it had in Poser but just jumped through 3 keypoints and didn't move at all between those keypoints. Poser later crashed on me so I couldn't save it.
But I will be mailing you some strange scenes I have noticed when testing animation.

I finally got one...
A scene that consistently gives me an nVidia 999 failure using standalone and Poser plugin versions greater than 1.54
At version 1.54 everything works perfectly, and all geometry in the scene is rendered.
Anything greater than 1.54 is missing scene geometry in the render and crashes to 999 after a minute or so.

Question is Paul... I've been able to save the scene as an 'orbx' (80MB), but it's too big to post here or in other forums for analysis. Is there anywhere else to send this file so someone else can get a failure too?
Maybe a dropbox link, it that acceptable?

Well here it is anyway...

Also posted to standalone forum... but anybodys guess if I got the right sub-forum.

nVidia Titan 6GB

Maybe try Rapidshare or Mediafire?

I tried it and I also get an error. My display driver failed.
Removing the displacement nodes seems to fix the problem.

Started logging on 08.07.14 09:53:01

OctaneRender version 2.02 (2020000)

CUDA error 999 on device 1: An unknown internal error occurred.
-> kernel execution failed (pt)
device 1: path tracing failed
CUDA error 999 on device 0: An unknown internal error occurred.
-> kernel execution failed (pt)
device 0: path tracing failed

Zay - it is failing at 7 s/p?

EDIT: I cannot get the cuda error 999, but get the Nvidia driver crash. Removing any geometry item resolves the error, as does removing the displacement. I have forwarded the scene to Otoy.

It fails after about 1 minute. No cuda error pops up. But the cuda log showed the error.

It crashed the card drivers (340.43) and the stand alone after about a minute into rendering

What scene are you playing with Paul that causes the crash... nobody has said they are using the one I posted... so perhaps there is another out there that is crashing and my eye colour matches what I'm full of.

We are all trying the scene you posted Deane.
