this fixes the issues I had with material conversion. I will try to find more problems next week
RGUS, as far as I know you need 1.25...
The new version can be found in the first post of this thread.

yes, yes... I understand the Poser plugin update... I need to know if I need the Octane standalone 1.25 updtae, since this new Poser plugin update was compiled against Octane 1.25 as Paul said.
I just need to know if I need the standalone update for this new version to work.

You only need 1.25 Standalone if you are exporting from the plugin. If needed, download from "Release Candidate Testing Forum".

Wow, after having done a few test renders, I have to say, that most of the materials I'd set up for earlier versions, are looking so much different now. Looks like most the values kinda changed. Roughness, specular, procedurals like the turbulence node ... so different in their outcome now, with the same values/set up.
Gonna take a lot of work, to re-adujst them again. .... Or is it just me? LOL

It should only be the "scale" pin on textures (image, floatimage, alphaimage, checks, turbulence, etc) which has changed. Everything else should be the same. Poser Human figures and hair will rarely have a scale set, so it will be clothing and props, both of which can be re-converted from Poser if needed. But if you have hand-crafted a lot of Octane procedural materials, than yes, this might be a lot of work.
If this is a serious issue, I can look at some sort of automated way of doing this (ie. taking the old scale pin and creating a new scale transform when the pz3 is loaded).

This would be quite handy, I suppose, but if it's necessary, I don't know and it sounds like quite a hassle to code. As far as I understood it, the 1.2x.x versions are just "in-between" vers. of 1.5. Perhaps that's to many hoops to jump through for now.
I have another small issue tho ...
When opening the turbulence node, there's the pin for "octaves". This one can now be set to "Int value" or "Image Resolution". Once it's set to "Image Res.", there seems to be no way, to set it back to "Int Value" again. Can this be fixed somehow, please?

I have a version that addresses both the above issue - which I will post in the next 24hrs.

I have tried the "Daylight" environment.
It lets me change "sundir" in the Settings tab, and this changes the viewport as I expected.
However, when I then do something that triggers a refresh from poser, such as moving the camera, the sundirection returns to the old value (which I assume is the "Daylight" light position in poser?).
Why is it at all possible to change sundir in render options if it is so volatile?
There might the same type of problems with some of the other settings for daylight, I had trouble reproducing those though.

You are not supposed to be able to change sundir (If I remember it was always locked).
You change the sunlight in poser with the light called Daylight. This is the first infinite light in the scene
So I think it is a bug that you are able to set it. Why it is there in the first place, I do not know.

The sun direction should only be able to be changed form the infinite light (called "Daylight") that is in the scene. I will remove the ability to set the "sundir" x, y, z values in the plugin in the next release.

I have refreshed the installer at the top of this thread with:
1.25.0.17
- Fixed issue where if you change an Int type to Resolution, you could not change it back to an Int
- When loading an old (1.20) scale, the plugin will attempt to convert texture scales to the 1.25 scale transform. This has not been tested over a wide range of scenes - so pls report your success with this feature
- Removed the edit controls from the "sundir" pin. Move the infinite light called "Daylight" to change the sun position.
