a GTX470 here does about 3.0 Ms/s. i heard some latest driver versions actually make them a bit slower.

Hi, my benchmark tests:

win7, 32bit, dualcore2 e6550 2,33GHz, 4 GB ram
gtx260 216 cores, Zotac AMP2

1)
Geforce 8600GT, 197.13, Octane render 1.022
0,17 Megasamples

2)
Geforce GTX260, 197.13, Octane render 1.022
1,21 Megasamples

3)
Geforce GTX260, 197.45, Octane render 1.022
1,21 Megasamples

4)
Geforce GTX260, 257.21, Octane render 1.022
1,20 Megasamples

5)
Geforce GTX260, 257.21, Octane render 1.022b
1,20 Megasamples

New drivers are tiny bit slower in my case.
Hope to make reports with 470/465 soon.

Mine win7, 32bit, i7 2.66, 3GB ram
Vcard GTS250 only reach 0.75M samples/s. Do this benchmark get any better score with other settings? I just leave diffuse material and render.

I reach 4000 ...merely 1 hour. :|

I have the same graphics card, and I'm pretty sure I've been getting about 1.40 mega samples. But I'm not sure which drivers I have, would need to check.

Hi, you open obj file? For this benchmark you need open via menu File > Open > octane_22_benchmark.ocs

Maybe in old scene 3.0 Ms/s? In this new benchmark scene i see other settings

GTX 465 Benchmark result and comparison with Overclocking.

Hi,
Here are the results of my GTX 465.
First... no overclock, no Bios hack ( i mean no GTX 465 to 470 upgrade hack)
bench-path-depth-8-Capture.JPG
IT shows 2.03 Msmple/sec

Anyway, I than managed to overclock my 465 with the MSI's tool.
These are my stable settings.
( If you wish to overlock your graphics card Don't blame me if you end up with a non working card )
ocsettings.JPG
After overclock I sense a + ~0.4 increase in Msamples/sec
Resulting 2.38 Msmpl/sec
Which is pretty aweasome for me

So pushing the limits stabilly towards a 470 by overclocking. :) :)
Besides benchmarking.
If you're not dealing with glasses and liquids when you lower the tracedepth to 4 o 5 you gain Xtra speed than 8 depth
Which is cool to practice the Light with GI or color bleeds ...

Anyway I also want to share my Bios hacking memories... :)
I happen to have a stock Zotax GTX 465 which has a 8 chip on PSB
There are some GTX 465 that they have 10 chips so pretty much like a GTX 470.
I couldn't manage to unlock the Cuda cores. But i did upgrade the bios with a newer one which is 70.00.21.00.70

But my 465 slowed down verymuch. The bechmark scene showed 1.9Msamples/sec..
So I got back to my initial backup Bios.
I strongly advice you to not mess with your graphics BIOS.

But if you have a GTX 465 card that has 10 chips.
You might possibly hack the card to showup as 470 as well as %20 increase in the cuda cores by unlocking it.
You can learn about by googling it.

Cheers,
oguz

Driver 197.75, Octane render 1.022, Vista 64bit
2,67 Megasamples.
O/C 3.33 Megasamples.

Hi,

Get the testsuite from the downloads page, it's compatible with the 2.2b version.
you just have to change the render kernel from directlighting to pathtracing before starting the render to render an equal benchmark for this post.
