this is the answer. this scene is huge and high poly. It seems that adding just 2words of motext with a bunch of quadrangles (had previously used this text with a bend deformer) on the face put it over the edge. I changed the face back to N-gons and we are rendering normally now.
Thanks!!!
can you report about how many polygons have you in your scene?

Aoktar, amazing work integrating this plugin! Been able to accomplish things I never thought possible in tight deadlines, so thanks for your continued work on the integration of this Plugin. A question regarding the new announcements from Otoy and Amazon "Octane Cloud". Can octane for c4d plugin connect to the ORBX.js in Amazon for rendering? If not is it planned? thanks!

i'm glad to know that you like it. I have no any idea/info how ORBX.js is working. Maybe Otoy can reply for that, sorry

Not in the initial phase of the cloud deployment, but in a couple of weeks it will be possible to export your scene or animation created with the C4D plugin to Alembic format and upload it to the cloud for rendering in the standalone version. The ultimate goal is to provide live rendering with the C4D plugin running in the cloud. We are in talks with Maxon to make this happen.

I have one question...I've two graphic cards in my pc:
1 gtx 480 1,5 GB
1 gtx 760 4 GB
Now octane see my two graphic cards and put the 480 like GPU0 and the 760 like GPU1, so the memory avaible is only 1,5 GB
With scene that has less of 1,5 GB the two graphic cards work togheter and the speed of render is very good, but if my scene is more of 1,5 gb i must deactivated the 480 and render only with the 760 that has 4 gb but my total speed is low.
There is a solution that i can use the 760 like GPU0 and the 480 like GPU1? i've try to format my pc and see the setting of the bios but nothing, the 760 is mounted on the first Ide on motherboard but the result is always the same, perhaps the 480 is more power so the system assign the first place?

Thanks for the reply RayTracey,
This is great news, live rendering in C4d running the c4d plugin in the cloud would be fantastic. Especially for large scene animations. Exporting Alembic is an option, but having the ability to work directly in C4d would really advance a lot of workflows.
I think the ultimate goal is having a live c4d scene rendering in the cloud, inside of After Effects through Cineware, this would be an amazing goal for a Maxon/Otoy collaboration. Hope this workflow is in the works with your talks with Maxon.

If you use both cards Octane loads the entire scene onto both cards so you are limited by the amount of RAM in your lowest card...

Just curious, with 2 titans your scene breaks after 45,500 polys? I might be reading my poly count wrong, but i'm working with a quadro k5000 with 4gigs and working with a scene thats 3.2 million. Does your scene have massive textures?

possible or wrong numbers. even a gtx 590 can handle a few million triangles, but big textures consumes much more vram
