Hey chocbot, thanks for letting us know!

The sheen issue with analytic lights MAY be a core/standalone bug, but I will double check.

As for the hair material, I would need to test it and get back to you.

Hi Ricky,

I have a test scene for you, where it's pretty obvious:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiO-yRNxbYloi2fUrIA ... n?e=DLE3lL
Lighting is symmetrical but reflectivity and scattering isn't, no matter the offset value:

Do you have any estimates, when you have time to look at it? Currently starting lookdev for this project and the hair is important. Already tried the standard and universal shader with anisotropy and all kinds of sss. Reflectivity looks good but I can't achieve that plausible softish backlit effect with standard sss. It keeps looking too rigid and wiry.

Oh and one more question - wasn't there a way to disable IPR's "always on top" setting as a default. Can't find it.

Cheers

Thanks for the scene Chocbot! I will have a look into that thanks.

Yes to enable/disable "Always on top" is in the QT5 render window (Preferences)

Thanks, though I meant a way to have it disabled by default?

No there isn't a main option for that as far as I know, sorry.

Regarding the hair shader, it seems to be the same as in Standalone so not something unique to the plugin.
I will need more time to test it but you could probably get more unified highlights with the other settings.

Also have you tried mixing the materials?
Hair_mat
Hair_mat
Hair_StandardSurf_mat
Hair_StandardSurf_mat

Hey thanks for checking it out! That doesn't sound great, if it's a Standalone issue..

Unfortunately mixing isn't an option. We have a few pretty symmetric shots, so you can easily spot that strange behaviour.
With this lighting you can see it even more. and that's rendered without specular. What's weird also is that albedo-mode behaves quite differently to the melanin-mode:

And if I'm in albedo-mode an set albedo and specular to black, it still doesn't render black:

I did a quick test in Redshift for comparison, this is more what I would expect:

I see thanks, I will discuss this with the team and test a little further. I will PM you again with any news or info on it, sorry for the inconvenience.

I am not sure if you received my PM and test scene, but it seems this may be a bug in Standalone which will be looked at.

The QT5 render window (Always on top) will be set to default: off for the new production build due this week.
