i second the sentiment of thankfulness for Otoy's team.
Everyone has been so helpful, no matter the frustration i encountered so many times using Octane.
Best customer support among a lot of vfx tools i personally use, hands down.

Beside this, i would love to see the Lights ID passes denoised as well,
that could be very helpful,
thanks guys

Good morning (o;

Has someone a trick how to improve denoising in a scene with a carpet on the floor?

Looks just washed out and smeared...

thanks in advance

I get zero denoising

Octane Camera Imager is on for both Render and Preview.
Spectral AI Denoiser is activated in both the above.

I think Render Passes is turned on - there isn't a tick box like in the 2.79 but I've ticked a few passes and can see them in the F12 image.

Preview pass is set to Denoiser Beauty.
Beauty pass is ticked.
Denoiser Beauty pass is ticked.

And finally in Compositing - Use nodes is ticked and OctDenoiseBeauty is hooked up.

Max Samples are set 10 & 10 in Path Tracing Kernal.

You need to increase render samples.

This should work with settings you described. Can you share the Blend file?

I had to recreate the scene. Think this is set how I had it. Might have missed something.

Change "Preview pass type" to composite and it will work in final render.
For most cases preview pass should be set to Composite when doing final render (F12).

Here's the result.
Interesting that it takes considerably more time to do the initial render with Denoiser enabled.

After the render have you switched to denoised view layer in picture viewer?

Please check this file out. It's a simple scene with denoiser:
