I just cant put my finger on what it could be, I know the GTX1080 works I plugged a monitor in to the dvi port
normally I don't have a monitor plugged into it
I did run the GTX1080 for awhile, even did a little gaming with it and it preforms just like it should.
Ok I have not run Octane Standalone yet I will do that..
Ok the GTX 1080 works in standalone fine by itself
Ok the Titan Black has problems when both cards are active
The Titan Black wont run by itself?
It is the opposite when I am in lightwave? the Titan runs fine the 1080 wont???

So I thought I would download the OctaneBench® 3.06.2 and run it..
Had both cards enabled, thru an error that 1 failed?? hmmmmm
Single Card Titan Black
Score - 56.22
OS - Win 7 64 bit
Version - 3060200
The GTX1080 failed..??
hmmmm
Interesting, Standalone likes the GTX1080 ... hates the Titan hehe
The Bench Mark likes the Titan Black ... hates the GTX1080 hehe
Lightwave likes the Titan and hates the GTX1080 hehe

Do you have a GPU/CPU monitor running at all? What are the temps for these pups, when running full blast? Seems to me that when folks have crap overheating, or if a PSU is not fully up to the task, things can get pretty dodgy.. unpredictable...
I use Open Hardware Monitor, and love it. Very light weight and compact. I've got my GPUs and CPU temps sitting right in the system tray, and I have a different color applied to each, so I know which is which. Always on top of my temps. Not that I need to keep an eye on my hybrids and watercooled cpu, but if the "fit hits the shan", I would know quick.

I use MSIAfterBurner to monitor GPU's and water cooled CPU
Temps have never been the issue...
But I will double check them.
Things seem to be fine, just cant seem to figure out why I can't use both GPU's, interesting...
I use to be able to use both of them the only changes where the driver updates for video cards...
interesting... it is..

This problem is starting to sound to me like a problem with your system and the NVIDIA drivers. Are you using a motherboard with PLX chipset? I've read that these motherboards have a lot of problems with multiple GPUs and all the latest NVIDIA drivers, a problem unfortunately not fixed by NVIDIA yet.
Thanks,

Perhaps you could try to revert back to an older NVIDIA drivers version to see if it helps. The 387 drivers are the first ones compatible with Octane 4, so you could try these drivers version.
Thanks,

OK
Downloaded the GURU DDO and removed the 398.36 NVidia drivers and installed the 387.92 drivers and all is working now
Both GPU's are running again...
Thank you
