FrankPooleFloating wrote:ABORT, JUANJO! ABORT!.. It must have had something to do with a BG image that I had in LW Compositing, that I actually wasn't using, or one of the couple objects I just deleted from scene. Now it aborts correctly. Thanks anyways, for being there, J!
In the log file I only can see that indeed the plugin is freeze while reading the preview image. Could you confirm that the problem is related to the LW compositing feature? This can be a good clue to try to reproduce and fix the problem.

Thanks,

Sorry J, I was gone for a couple hours. We seem to have found the culprit. The (temp) BG image I had in there was a 980x548 JPG. Remove it and F9 aborts with great aplomb. Maybe something with the slightly different aspect ratio than what I was rendering at, or much lower res?.. I have no idea, but have to get back to working. Perhaps this gives you enough clues to go on...

Thanks, yes, it is a good clue. I'll investigate it.

HI Juanjo. I had that abort freeze last night also. It was busy scene and I've hit Abort (to change something i noticed wrong) and Octane Render windows is saying Aborting.... and GPUs are spining/heating but it's not aborting nor rendering more, that stuck for next 3 minutes so i just EndTask-ed it.

Do you have a background image using the LW compositing functions in this scene?

Thanks,

Hmm can't say for sure but i think i didn't have it set 'oz it was full 3d environment. But I had HDRI environment image if that counts.

Hey Juanjo, did you solve the mystery of the F9 abort freezes? If not, I want to clarify that when I said I wasn't using that BG (980x548 jpg) in lw compositing, it's because I did not have alpha enabled in RT, thus not showing bg through my HDR/Daylight. So maybe this is another clue?..

Is it impossible for material converter to check all edit nodes ?

Boris, sorry, what do you mean with "check all edit nodes"?

Thanks,
