Hey there,
works fine here. I think you need the latest plugin. Paul fixed a few things.
Cheers

I made a new version of the triplanar-mapping-assembly. Now you can connect only one imagemap, but scale rotate and translate x y z separatly. Also as Paul suggested you can plug a greyscale node into the power slot and a float value node into the gamma slot to control these values. The Falloff Value can be changed directly in the Assembly channels.
This doesn't work for Normal and Displacement Textures (but you can bake them to a Texture though)
Also you need the new Version of the Plugin.
I hope you like it!

Hi Hesekiel. Thanks for your time to check this.
So are you saying my scene works for you? Now that is very interesting.
I've tried with your latest assembly and it still doesn't work. I just can't figure out why.
I even uninstalled my Octane VR plugin (which was the latest available by the way) and installed the demo version of the regular modo plugin. But stil no success.
First I've tested the box projection which works:
Then your newest assembly:
What version of modo are you running? Mine is 10.2v1
Also this command doesn't work for me: octane.command.showNodeGraph
Modo scene attached again. Can anyone else please try it and report back?
Thanks a million.

I suspect the VR version of the plugin does not contain the code fixes needed to make this work. Try this version....

Hi Paul,
Thanks for checking in. My last screenshots are from the regular octane plugin (demo) and that is the latest available. So I'm afraid that's not going to help. But I try it anyway and report back.

The demo is potentially too old to contain the fix needed for Triplanar mapping to work too.

Wow Paul, that is right!
It works with the new one! I should have tried it before saying that it won't work.
Great stuff! Thank you for your help. Now I feel special with this non-official version
Any idea why "octane.command.showNodeGraph" doesn't work? Or is it now obsolete?
Sorry if I'm asking something obvious, I've only started learning this a few days ago with the help of your YouTube channel and in one of those videos you demo this, and I love digging deeper in the engine to understand things

The latest VR version will be available at
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=55078 from now on.

It should be "octane.command showNodeGraph" (ie. remove the second dot). It is really only for viewing the node graph for debugging reasons - anything you change in the node graph is lost when you next Refresh the viewport in Modo.

Hey there,
since the new triplanar option in Octane is not as convenient to use as it should i made a small assembly. Now you can plug in one Imagefile and control the scale and rotation and also translation in one location.
I made this in the Octane Test 2 Version of the Modo Plugin, but when i load it in another scene I get Cuda Errors. But it works fine in Test 1.
I don't know if this is a problem with the plugin or with octane itself.
I hope you like it!
Cheers

Hi - there are a lot of users reporting Cuda error - so I suggest testing this on the next release when it is available, and if still getting cuda error, report them to me or Otoy.
