Hi solomonfl,
I attached a scene about your baking of cubemap.
let me know if it works in unity please.

Thanks Paride, but the scene doesn't help me know what steps to take to fix the flipping of the render ~ without seeing the step by step instructions you took to achieve it. KLindly walk me through the steps.

In Addition, I am not trying to render a CUBE like in the scene you have sent me ~ I am trying to render an entire scene with 3D characters and buildings ~ so I don't wish to bake the entire scene ~ I simply want to be able to render using the Octane Camera, without the render being flipped ~ I think there should be a simple toggle for that in the camera settings instead of the default being flipped.

@solomonfl

As @Goldorak suggested, you can achieve a custom projection using a Baking Camera and setting the "Revert baking" option to true. All you need is the desired geometry from where the scene will be rendered and a UV mapping that will generate the desired 2D projection.

The scene that @paride4331 provided contains the setup you need, as it is not baking the cube itself, but instead rendering the scene around it. Note that you will need Octane 3 to be able to use this feature.

I posted some time ago about how this option modifies the default behavior in case that helps understanding this.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the links Mojave ~ however, I hope I am clear in what I am trying to achieve ~ I don't want to bake my scene ~ I simply want to render the different panels for the X, Y and Z without the final render being flipped ~ my thinking is that, you have it already coded in the Octane to do that, which it used not to do, I am asking that you give us the users an option to have that rendered without the mirroring effect ~ because not every one is rendering for VR.

Thanks for the time Paride4331 ~ I think from this example you have shown me, you may have thought I was trying to reverse a Cube Map ~ but that's not what I am trying to do.

I am starting with a full Scene with animated characters and other assets, not a cubemap ~ a full set ~ and I am trying to render just one Panel at a time, of my entire scene, to plug into the Unity Skybox (6 Sided)

And what I am asking the Otoy team is to offer an option that when I select for example +Z or -Z in the Octane Camera ~ that the result render does not get mirrored ~ and if another user needs mirrored, that an option is provided as say a check box

Hi Guys, any help on solving this? can an option be provided as a check box to allow for un-mirrored renders when rendering to the cubemap options of x,y and z?

Hi solomonfl,
I suggest you put this request in this section of the forum.

The sdk changes can not be made by the plugin developers.
